David Mercer
Scam Survivor & Founder
A few years ago I lost the better part of my savings to a scam. It was convincing, it was patient, and it was aimed squarely at someone like me. Afterwards, the thing that stung almost as much as the money was how alone and ashamed I felt, and how little clear, practical help I could find that wasn’t either terrifying jargon or someone selling something.
I’m not a security expert. I’m the person it happened to, and I’ve since spent a long time learning how these scams really work, talking to others who’ve been targeted, and figuring out what actually protects people.
So I built Threatcare, the resource I wish I’d had. I write from my own experience and from what I’ve learned, and every article is reviewed by a fraud and security professional so the guidance is accurate and current. My goal is simple: to help you spot the warning signs early, protect your money and your identity, and know exactly what to do if the worst happens, without the panic, the jargon, or the shame.
